SANTIAGO, October 16, 2026 - Subway®, one of the world’s largest restaurant brands, today announced a new master franchise agreement with MFCL SPA to expand and modernize the brand in Chile, as part of its ambition to accelerate growth across Latin America and the Caribbean.
MFCL SPA will lead the development of the Subway brand in Chile. As part of this long-term commitment, the company will open new restaurants and grow Subway’s presence in Chile by approximately 50%. It will also modernize existing restaurants, with remodels scheduled to begin once the agreement takes effect.
MFCL SPA is owned by Alejandra Robles and Cristian Solís, who have a long history with Subway. Alejandra began her journey with the brand in 2005 as a franchisee, and Cristian joined in 2015. Together, they spent more than a decade supporting the growth of the network in Chile as development agents. Under the agreement, MFCL SPA is appointed Master Franchisee for Chile and takes on responsibility for growing the brand in the country. To do so, it will grant subfranchises to its affiliates and to third parties, and it will oversee and support both existing and new restaurants.
“This agreement is a strategic step toward accelerating Subway’s growth in Latin America and the Caribbean, and it reaffirms our confidence in the master franchise model, which combines the expertise and investment capacity of local entrepreneurs with the strength of a global brand,” said Artemio Garza, President of Subway Latin America and the Caribbean. “Chile has enormous growth potential. We have a solid foundation, a committed local partner, and a shared vision to take Subway to the next level. We are confident this new chapter will allow us to accelerate expansion, modernize our restaurants, and bring a better experience to many more communities across the country.”
Chile, which today has more than 200 restaurants, is already an innovation leader in the region. It opened the first restaurant featuring what was then the brand’s newest design (Fresh Forward 1.0), launched the region’s first Drive Thru format, and recently rolled out digital self-order kiosks in many restaurants across the country. Under MFCL SPA’s leadership, Subway restaurants will continue to build on that record of innovation.
“Taking on the Master Franchise in Chile is an opportunity we welcome with great pride and a firm commitment to the future of the brand,” said Alejandra Robles and Cristian Solís, partners at MFCL SPA. “Our focus now is to open new restaurants, modernize existing ones, and deliver a better experience for guests in every community. We know this market and its franchisees well, and we are ready to invest, execute, and build the next stage of Subway’s growth in Chile together.”
As part of its growth strategy in Latin America and the Caribbean, Subway continues to expand through the master franchise model, which brings greater local accountability, investment, and execution capability to each market, and it continues to seek strong operators to join the brand on this journey.
